Fallout New Vegas save problem?

I was playing the game and the power went out while the game was saving, now the game doesn't load from the last save(Or maybe I haven't waited long enough). What the game dose is I'll select the most current save(Auto save) it gets on the loading screen with the roulette wheel and if It dose end up loading it takes FOREVER. Any fixes or should I just sell the game?
